| Beschrijving keerzijde | Minerva, helmeted and clad in military dress with flowing robes, stands facing left in the field. She raises her right hand holding a thunderbolt, while her left arm extends a long spear; a large round shield rests upright at her side. The figure is rendered in the classicising style characteristic of Domitianic reverses, with carefully delineated drapery folds. The surrounding legend in Latin capitals reads IMP XIIII COS XIIII CENS P P P along a beaded border. This Minerva type was one of Domitian's favoured reverse designs, reflecting his particular devotion to the goddess. |
