Obverse description Laureate head of Domitian facing right, rendered in fine high-relief portraiture typical of Flavian imperial coinage. The emperor's bust is bare-shouldered, displaying the characteristic strong jaw and heavy brow of Domitian's official portrait type. The circular legend runs from lower left to upper right around the periphery of the flan. The portrait conveys imperial authority in the established Roman tradition, with fine engraving detail visible in the laurel wreath and facial features.
