| Obverse description | Laureate head of Domitian facing right, with aegis or drapery visible at the base of the neck, rendered in high relief characteristic of Flavian portraiture. The emperor's features are depicted with individualistic detail, including a strong jaw and prominent brow. The encircling legend runs from the lower left, reading IMP CAES DOMIT AVG GERM P M TR P V, divided across the obverse field. The flan is slightly irregular, as is typical of hand-struck Roman silver coinage of the period. The portrait conveys imperial authority consistent with official mint production at Rome. |
