Reverse description Minerva, the patron deity of Domitian, depicted standing right atop a rostral column, holding an upright spear in her right hand and a round shield in her left. An owl, sacred attribute of Minerva, stands to the right at the base of the column. The composition reflects the standard Flavian reverse type associated with Domitian's special veneration of Minerva, rendered with bold relief characteristic of the Rome mint's output in this period.
