| Obverse description | Laureate head of Domitian facing right, with finely rendered hair and a wreath of laurel leaves crowning the brow, depicted with a strong, slightly fleshy profile characteristic of Flavian portraiture. The neck is bare and the bust is truncated at the shoulder. The encircling legend reads IMP CAES DOMITIAN AVG PONT, distributed around the periphery of the flan in crisp Latin capitals, identifying the emperor by his imperial titles. |

| Reverse description | A cylindrical altar or lighted cippus, depicted frontally with two serpents rising sinuously from either side and a reclining animal (wolf or dog) atop the structure, rendered in a style typical of early Flavian reverse types. The composition is centrally placed in the field with no exergue inscription. The surrounding legend COS VII DES VIII P P is distributed around the periphery, recording Domitian's seventh consulship, his designation as consul-elect for an eighth term, and his title as Father of the Fatherland. |
