| Beschrijving keerzijde | Jupiter, nude to the waist and holding a thunderbolt in his raised right hand and reins in his left, drives a galloping quadriga to the right at full speed, the four horses rendered with vigorous, dynamic energy. Below the horses, the moneyer's name M•SILA appears in the field, while the legend ROMA is inscribed in the exergue. A spoked wheel is visible beneath the chariot to the lower left. The entire composition conveys a strong sense of movement and power characteristic of late Roman Republican die-cutting. A beaded border surrounds the design. |
