| Beschrijving voorzijde | Bare-headed, laureate bust of Emperor Claudius facing right, rendered in a naturalistic portrait style typical of Julio-Claudian coinage. The emperor's facial features are clearly delineated, with a strong jaw and individualized portraiture. A caduceus or similar staff-like object is faintly visible in the field to the left of the neck. The encircling legend runs continuously around the full perimeter of the flan, referencing Claudius's imperial titles. The flan is slightly irregular in shape, consistent with hand-struck Roman silver coinage of the period. |
