Obverse description Diademed and draped bust of Feronia facing right, her elaborately waved hair adorned with a diadem and a small spherical finial at the crown. A beaded necklace is visible at her shoulder. The legend TVRPILIANVS IIIVIR FERON encircles the bust, identifying the moneyer Publius Petronius Turpilianus as Triumvir Monetalis responsible for striking the coin and naming the goddess Feronia. The portrait is rendered in fine Republican-influenced style with careful attention to the drapery folds at the truncation.
