| Obverse description | Three pontifical emblems displayed in the field: a sacrificial axe (securis) at left, a simpulum (ladle) at center, and a knife (culter) at right, arranged horizontally. The instruments allude to Brutus's priestly office and his claim to religious authority. The legend BRVTVS appears below the emblems in bold Roman capitals, identifying the issuing commander Marcus Junius Brutus. The entire design is enclosed within a border of dots typical of late Republican military coinage. |

| Reverse description | Two augural implements are prominently displayed in the field: a tall, handled oenochoe (jug) with a ribbed globular body occupying the left portion, and a lituus (augur's curved staff) standing upright to the right, its spiral volute clearly rendered at the top. Both symbols reference the priestly and augural offices held by the moneyer. The moneyer's name LENTVLVS SPINT is inscribed in two lines across the lower field in large Roman capitals, identifying Publius Cornelius Lentulus Spinther as the quaestor responsible for the issue. The reverse is enclosed within a border of dots, consistent with the obverse. |
