Obverse description Bare head of Augustus facing right, rendered in fine portrait style with naturalistic facial features, neatly combed hair swept forward across the brow, and a youthful, idealized physiognomy characteristic of Augustan court art. The effigy is positioned centrally within the flan, surrounded by a dotted border.
