At the base of the trophy, a seated captive figure in a posture of submission is depicted, evoking Roman victory in the Cantabrian Wars. To the left, a small standing figure — likely a second captive or soldier — is also present. The encircling Latin legend P CARISIVS LEG PRO PR identifies the issuing authority, Publius Carisius, legate pro praetore of Lusitania, who struck this coinage under Augustan authority at the mint of Emerita. |
