| Beschrijving voorzijde | Bare head of Augustus facing right, rendered in fine high relief with characteristic Augustan portraiture: neatly combed hair with a distinctive central forelock and a small laurel sprig above the brow. The truncation of the neck is cleanly cut. The encircling legend runs right along the inner border of beaded dentils, dividing the field on either side of the imperial effigy. |

| Beschrijving keerzijde | Mars, helmeted and cloaked, stands facing left in a composed military pose upon an inscribed pedestal bearing the legend S P Q R V P S PR S ET RED AVG. The god holds an upright spear in his right hand and a parazonium — a short triangular sword — in his lowered left hand. The figure is rendered in the classicizing style characteristic of Augustan coinage, conveying divine protection of the emperor. The moneyer's name and titles occupy the surrounding field and exergue. |
