Reverse description Three jugate busts facing right, set above a horizontal ground line: at left the draped bust of Julia the Elder (daughter of Augustus), at center the youthful bare head of Gaius Caesar, and at right the youthful bare head of Lucius Caesar, Augustus's grandsons and designated heirs. Above the central figure a laurel wreath is depicted centrally in the upper field, flanking the legend elements. The moneyer's legend C·MARIVS·TRO is inscribed in the lower exergual area, while IIIVIR appears divided across the upper field to left and right of the wreath, identifying the issuing magistrate as Gaius Marius of the Tromentina tribe, Triumvir Monetalis.
