| 背面描述 | Capricorn, the personal astrological emblem of Augustus, depicted facing right in the central field, its forelegs raised and fish-tail arching beneath. The creature holds a terrestrial globe between its forefeet and a ship's rudder, symbols of dominion over land and sea; a cornucopiae appears above, signifying abundance. The composition alludes to the golden age of Augustan rule and was deliberately revived by Nerva as part of his restitution coinage programme honouring earlier imperial types. The encircling legend is distributed around the periphery of the flan. A piercing is visible at the right of the flan, consistent with that observed on the obverse. |
