| Obverse description | Bare laureate head of Augustus facing left, rendered with fine detail in the Augustan classical style; the laurel wreath is depicted with characteristic delicacy, and locks of hair are carefully engraved falling behind the neck. The legend AVGVSTVS DIVI•F is disposed around the field, reading from the left along the lower periphery and continuing to the right, enclosed within a beaded border.
