Struck during the brief but politically electric period when Antony and Octavian had formalized their alliance through the Treaty of Brundisium, this joint issue acknowledges both men as *imperator* — a designation each was claiming aggressively in the aftermath of Philippi. The pairing was diplomatically calculated: Antony, the senior partner in military prestige, and Octavian, whose adoptive name carried Caesar's weight.
