| Obverse description | Helmeted head of Roma in right profile, wearing a crested Corinthian helmet adorned with wings; the effigy rendered in fine engraved style typical of late Roman Republican coinage. The denominational mark X (denoting ten asses) appears behind the head in the field. The inscription ROMA is displayed in the lower exergual area, identifying the issuing authority in Latin capitals. |

| Reverse description | Roma, personified as a helmeted female figure in Corinthian helmet, is depicted seated right upon a pile of shields and resting her left hand upon a grounded spear. A bird flies on each side of the figure, flanking the composition symmetrically. In the lower field before her feet rests a helmet, while at her feet a she-wolf stands right, suckling the twins Romulus and Remus in an allusion to the legendary foundation of Rome. The reverse is anepigraphic, carrying no legend. |
