Turiasu — modern Tarazona in Aragon — was among the more prolific Celtiberian mints, issuing silver coinage through roughly four decades of Roman consolidation in the Ebro valley. The Lusones were one of the larger Celtiberian tribal groups, and their mint at Turiasu operated with enough continuity and volume that its output reached circulation well beyond tribal territory, recovered at sites across the northeast peninsula.
The dating range spans the Sertorian War, and some specimens in this series almost certainly passed through the hands of both Sertorian and Pompeian forces during the 70s BC campaign along the Ebro.
