Obverse description Central field displays the Columns of Gediminas (Pillars of the Jagiellonian dynasty), rendered in a stylized Gothic manner with three vertical columns surmounted by crosses. A Gothic letter 'K', initial of King Kazimierz (Casimir IV), is depicted within the columns. The design is enclosed within a partial beaded border, typical of hammered Lithuanian denars of the period. The flan is irregular and the strike is characteristic of mid-15th century workshop production.
