| Additional information |
Heidenreich Wolf of Lüdinghausen served as Bishop of Münster during a period of acute fiscal and political pressure on the Westphalian ecclesiastical territories, with the bishopric frequently forced to pledge revenues and mint rights to creditors. Small silver denars of this type circulated primarily in regional trade and taxation, and the restricted output of Münster's mint under Heidenreich means documented specimens are scarce. The Ilisch reference places this firmly within a catalogued but sparsely represented series.
