Obverse description Central field dominated by the crowned arms of Gdańsk — a shield bearing two crosses (the double cross of Gdańsk) surmounted by a royal crown — set within an ornate cartouche of scrolling Renaissance strapwork. The last two digits of the mint year flank the central device, with the numeral appearing to the right of the shield. The entire design is enclosed within a rope-pattern inner border. No legend is present; the composition is entirely armorial and decorative in character, typical of the small hammered denars struck at the Gdańsk mint under Sigismund III Vasa.
Obverse script Latin

Reverse description The reverse presents a spread eagle displayed, its wings outspread and head turned, bearing a small crowned shield on its breast charged with the arms of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth. The eagle's talons are visible at the base of the design. The entire motif is surrounded by a beaded inner border. No legend appears on this side; the eagle type conforms to the standard royal Polish denar reverse type as issued under Sigismund III Vasa throughout the 1590s.
