Reverse description Facing crowned bust of the Volto Santo — the venerated effigy of Christ as preserved in the Cathedral of Lucca — depicted with long flowing hair and a full beard, wearing a crown with fleur-de-lis finials. The face is rendered in bold relief with a hieratic, frontal presentation characteristic of the medieval devotional image. Stylized foliate and cloud-like ornamental motifs fill the lower field beneath the bust. The partial circular legend VULTUS SANCT (Vultus Sanctus, Holy Face) runs around the periphery, with beaded border.
