Reverse description The reverse presents an entirely typographic design within a milled border, with the denominational and civic inscriptions arranged in five bold horizontal lines across the central field. At the upper periphery runs the revolutionary legend EGALITE LIBERTE INDEPENDANCE (Equality, Liberty, Independence). A small bee motif appears at the top of the inner field above the denomination DÉCIME, followed by a decorative separator rule, then the civic motto L'OISIVETÉ / EST UN / VOL (Idleness is Theft) in three successive lines. Two small foliate sprigs and a central floral ornament adorn the lower field, with the date 1794 inscribed at the very bottom above the milled edge.
