Obverse description Intaglio-printed portrait vignette of Johannes Gutenberg at left, wearing a fur-trimmed hat, set against an intricate multicolour guilloche underprint in gold and green tones. At centre, a stylised green floral scroll motif rises above a decorative band, while the upper right carries a circular optically variable device (OVD) element with the interlaced monogram 'DG' in iridescent gold, surrounded by finely engraved concentric lathe-work panels in brown, blue and green. The numeral '1' appears at lower left within a green guilloche cartouche, and the printer's name 'De La Rue Giori S.A.' is rendered in bold intaglio script along the lower margin, with the legends 'OPTI-NOTA' and 'SPECIMEN' printed in red letterpress at upper centre.
Obverse lettering OPTI-NOTA SPECIMEN GUTENBERG De La Rue Giori S.A.
Reverse description The reverse is unprinted, presenting a plain cream-coloured security paper surface. Faint impressions from the intaglio printing on the obverse are visible in relief through the stock, consistent with the heavy ink deposit of intaglio production. No design elements, lettering, or security features are applied to this side.
