De La Rue's "Kingfisher" demonstration notes are trade samples — produced not for any issuing authority but to showcase the firm's security printing capabilities to prospective central bank clients. The 2014 series was circulated at industry conferences and in direct sales presentations, functioning essentially as a printed brochure that also happens to be a banknote-grade substrate.
