Obverse description The Great King depicted in a dynamic running-kneeling posture to the right, wearing the distinctive kidaris (royal tiara) and elaborate court robes with finely rendered drapery folds. The royal figure holds a drawn bow in his right hand at full extension and carries a long spear or lance in his left hand, conveying the iconic image of royal power and martial prowess. The relief is rendered in the characteristic Achaemenid court style, with careful attention to the pleated garment and the king's bearded profile facing right. No legend or inscription appears in the field, consistent with the aniconic textual tradition of Achaemenid coinage. The flan is irregularly shaped, as typical of hand-struck Persian issues of this period.
