| Reverse description | Central field bears a large spread Imperial double-headed eagle displayed, with both heads turned outward, surmounted by a single crown above the junction of the two necks. The eagle's wings are outstretched with finely engraved feather detail, and decorative scrollwork fills the lower field between the talons. A beaded inner border separates the eagle from the outer circular Latin legend CAROLVS · V · ROMA · IMPERA · SEMP · AVGVST, invoking the authority of Holy Roman Emperor Charles V under whose name this abbatial coinage was struck. |
