Obverse description A crowned double-tailed lion rampant to the left occupies the central field, rendered in the bold, vigorous style typical of mid-sixteenth-century Low Countries coinage. The design is framed by two concentric beaded circles, with a cross positioned at the top of the border. The surrounding legend is inscribed in large Gothic lettering within the annular space between the beaded circles.
