Reverse description A large rampant lion facing left occupies the central field, depicted with flowing mane and raised forelegs in the heraldic style of the Dutch provinces; the lion's tail curves prominently upward. A beaded inner circle encloses the device, with the circumferential religious motto legend running between inner and outer beaded borders. The overall design is boldly struck and typical of the early Leeuwendaalder type issued under the authority of the province of Holland.
