Reverse description An armored knight stands facing left in full profile behind a large provincial shield bearing the West Frisian lion rampant, his right arm raised and brandishing a sword above his head. The knight's figure is rendered in bold relief in the baroque military style typical of Dutch Republic coinage of the late seventeenth century. The encircling Latin legend is interrupted at the close by a privy mark in the form of the shield of Medemblik. A beaded inner border separates the legend from the central design.
