| Description du revers | Detailed panoramic view of the fortified city of Gdańsk, with recognizable landmarks including the Main Town Hall, the Church of St. Mary, and the Church of St. John, as well as city gates and defensive walls depicted in fine engraving. Below the cityscape, an oval escutcheon bearing the arms of Gdańsk is supported by two lions and flanked by palm and vine branches. The date 1645 and the initials G·R of mint leaseholder Gerhard Rogge appear to the sides of the shield. At the top of the field, the Hebrew Tetragrammaton (יהוה) radiates divine rays, symbolizing providential protection of the city during the Thirty Years' War. |
