| Descrizione del dritto | Central field displays a crowned quartered shield of arms surmounted by a crown, bearing the heraldic devices of the Bronckhorst-Batenburg lineage, including saltires and other charges within the quarters. The shield is rendered in the Renaissance heraldic style typical of mid-16th-century Low Countries coinage. A circular Latin legend surrounds the central device, punctuated by annulets, reading the abbreviated titulature of William V of Bronckhorst as lord of Batenburg. The entire design is struck on an irregularly shaped flan characteristic of hammered gold coinage of the period. |
