| Reverse description | A bold plain cross pattée occupies the entire reverse field, dividing it into four equal quadrants, in the style of the Portuguese cruzado type from which this baronial imitation derives its denomination. A circular Latin legend surrounds the cross, punctuated by annulets, bearing the devotional inscription IN HOC SIGNO VINCS. The design is stark and unadorned save for the legend, emphasizing the religious character of the cruzado type. The strike is typical of hammered technique, with slight weakness at the periphery consistent with the irregular flan. |
