The surrounding circular Latin legend, separated by small rosette ornaments, carries the Constantinian motto IN HOC SIGNO VINCES, invoking divine victory. The overall composition is bold and emblematic, rendered in a clean milled style characteristic of late 17th-century Portuguese coinage. |
