| Reverse description | A large Cross of the Order of Christ dominates the central field, rendered in the characteristic pattée form associated with Portuguese imperial coinage. Decorative rosettes are placed in each of the four corners formed by the arms of the cross. The peripheral Latin legend IN HOC SIGNO VINCES encircles the design, referencing the Constantinian motto adopted by the Order of Christ. The overall composition is clean and heraldic, consistent with the milled silver coinage of the Joannine Regency period. |
