Reverse description Central field dominated by a bold cross of Jerusalem (pattée form), with a prominent star or rosette motif at its centre and three pellets or annulets adorning the upper arm, all set within a beaded inner circle. The four quadrants formed by the cross arms each contain decorative elements including annulets and small pellets, lending an ornate quality to the design. A circular Latin legend encircles the entire composition along the outer border, repeating the royal titulature of Manuel I. The hammered relief is strong and well-struck, consistent with the Lisbon mint production of the Manueline period.
