Reverse description A plain cross potent divides the reverse field into four quarters, each containing a heraldic device alternating between the castles of Castile and the lions of León in a quartered arrangement. The cross itself is bold and extends to the inner border, framing the quadrants clearly despite the worn surfaces typical of circulated billon. An outer legend encircles the design within a beaded border, and the letters of the king's name appear interspersed alongside the royal title. The hammered strike results in some weakness at the flan edges, but the quartered arms remain the dominant compositional element.
