Obverse description Crowned facing bust of Enrique II occupying the central field, depicted in a stylized Gothic manner typical of 14th-century Castilian coinage. The king is shown wearing a crown with visible fleurons, with flowing hair rendered in low relief on either side of the face. The portrait is contained within a beaded inner circle, with the surrounding legend running along the outer border of the flan. The overall striking is characteristic of hammered billon coinage, with irregular flan edges and variable relief across the design.
