Obverse description Crowned bust of King Juan I facing right, depicted in a stylized medieval manner with flowing hair visible beneath a large crown adorned with fleurs-de-lis or pellets. The effigy displays a bearded profile with visible drapery at the neck. A dotted inner border frames the design, with the royal legend partially visible around the periphery of the irregularly shaped flan. The portrait is rendered in the characteristic low-relief hammered style typical of late 14th-century Castilian coinage.
