Obverse description Central field displays a crowned royal shield or emblem of Navarre, rendered in low relief typical of hammered billon coinage. The central device is encircled by a beaded inner border, with the Latin legend running between the inner and outer borders. The striking is irregular, as characteristic of hand-hammered medieval Navarrese coinage, and the flan shows typical planchet irregularities at the edges.
