| 备注 |
The Banco de Portugal's 5 Escudos note of 1913 appeared in the immediate aftermath of the republican revolution of October 1910, which overthrew the monarchy and triggered a prolonged reorganization of state finances. The young republic inherited a central bank whose note-issuing arrangements were closely tied to the old regime, and renegotiating that relationship consumed years of political capital before stable new series could be authorized and printed.
P#107 was printed domestically in Lisbon — unusual for Portuguese issues of this period, when foreign security printers dominated the market.
