Obverse description Laureate bust of Emperor Vespasian facing right, depicted with draped and cuirassed shoulders in the Roman imperial style. The effigy is rendered in bold relief with strong facial features characteristic of Flavian portraiture. The encircling Latin legend reads IMP CAES VESPAS AVG P M TR P P P COS IIII, identifying the emperor's titles and fourth consulship.

Reverse description The goddess Vesta is depicted seated left upon an ornate throne or curule chair, richly draped and veiled, holding a patera in her right hand and a long sceptre in her left. The field is divided by the senatorial authorization mark S C (Senatus Consulto) flanking the figure to left and right respectively. The legend VESTA appears in the exergue, identifying the deity celebrated on this issue.
