The effigy is depicted with draped and cuirassed shoulders, conveying imperial authority. The surrounding legend reads HADRIANVS AVGVSTVS P P, distributed around the periphery of the flan. A beaded border frames the design, consistent with the cistophoric coinage tradition of the eastern Roman provincial mints.
