Obverse description Bare-headed, laureate and bearded bust of Emperor Hadrian facing right, rendered with characteristic curly hair and a full, closely cropped beard typical of his mature portraiture. The effigy is depicted with draped and cuirassed shoulders, conveying imperial authority. The surrounding legend reads HADRIANVS AVGVSTVS P P, distributed around the periphery of the flan. A beaded border frames the design, consistent with the cistophoric coinage tradition of the eastern Roman provincial mints. The engraving reflects the high-relief, naturalistic style associated with Hadrianic portraiture of the late 120s to 130s AD.
