| Descrizione del dritto | Bare head of Augustus facing right, rendered in fine high relief with carefully detailed hair swept forward in characteristically Augustan style. The portrait is naturalistic and idealized, consistent with the classicizing aesthetic of early Imperial coinage. The neck is cleanly truncated, occupying the central field without additional drapery or attributes. The legend arcs along the lower portion of the coin below the portrait truncation, inscribed in Latin characters. The flan is broad and slightly irregular in shape, typical of the cistophoric series struck in the Eastern provinces. |
