| Obverse description | Bare head of Augustus facing right, rendered in fine portrait style typical of early Augustan coinage. The effigy displays the emperor's characteristic youthful idealized features with close-cropped hair arranged in naturalistic waves across the forehead. The legend IMP CAESAR is inscribed in the field, divided across the lower portion of the coin flanking the portrait. The flan is irregular in shape, consistent with cistophoric production of the eastern Roman mint tradition. |
