The "Chichester Cock" designation is a modern collector convention tied to findspot distribution, not ancient nomenclature. These bronzes circulated as small-denomination coinage during a period when the southern British tribes were increasingly embedded in cross-channel trade networks with Gaulish Belgic neighbors, a relationship that predates Caesar's invasions and survived them.
