| 表面の説明 | Laureate head of Apollo facing right, rendered in fine archaic-classical style with flowing hair secured beneath a laurel wreath. The portrait is boldly modeled in high relief, displaying strong facial features including a prominent nose and rounded chin. The wreath leaves are visible above the brow, and the neck is truncated at the lower field. The flan is slightly irregular, as typical of hammered bronze coinage of the period. |

Lokroi Opuntii sit on the eastern coast of Phokis in central Greece, and their bronze issues from this period fall squarely in the aftermath of the Third Sacred War — a conflict that devastated much of the region and reshuffled political allegiances across Boiotia and Lokris. Philip II's decisive victory at Chaironeia in 338 BC effectively ended Greek city-state autonomy in any meaningful military sense, and small civic bronzes like this one continued to circulate as local economies absorbed that political shock.
