| 表面の説明 | Turreted and draped bust of Artemis facing right, wearing a mural crown with multiple tiers, bow and quiver visible over the shoulder. The portrait is rendered in the Hellenistic civic tradition, with fine detail in the headdress and drapery. A beaded border encircles the design within the coin's irregular flan. The field is smooth with natural bronze patina. No legend appears on the obverse. |

Apameia on the Orontes was one of the great Seleucid foundations, but by the late second century BC it had effectively become an autonomous city operating under its own civic bronze coinage. The magistrate name Timodes appears on a narrow range of issues, placing this piece within a compressed window of civic administration during which the city navigated the collapse of Seleucid central authority and the westward pressure of Tigranes I of Armenia, who briefly controlled much of Syria from around 83 BC.
The HGC 7, 674 variety designation flags a die or control-mark divergence from the principal recorded type.
