Obverse description Diademed head of Seleukos II Kallinikos facing right, rendered in the Hellenistic royal portrait tradition with hair swept back beneath a plain diadem. The facial features, though worn, display the characteristic idealized modeling of Seleucid royal portraiture. The bust is bare-necked and truncated at the shoulder. A dotted border encircles the design.

Reverse description A horse trotting vigorously to the left, depicted in animated profile with the near foreleg and far hind leg raised in mid-stride. The musculature of the animal is rendered with naturalistic Hellenistic artistry. The royal legend BAΣΙΛΕΩΣ ΣΕΛΕΥΚΟΥ appears in the field, identifying the issuing monarch as King Seleukos. Depending on the die variety, control marks or monograms may appear in the field below or alongside the horse.
